The Menzerna company has been making abrasives
and polishing compounds since 1888. That's one year before Gottlieb
Daimler founded Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, the company that was to become
Mercedes Benz!
Today, Menzerna is the largest supplier of
polishes and compounds to Germany's automakers. Menzerna is a family-owned
company recognized as a world leader in abrasive and polishing technology.
In 2002, Classic Motoring Accessories
entered into a joint venture with Menzerna GMBH, Germany and Menzerna USA to
offer Menzerna car care products to the U.S. enthusiast market. While a dominant
supplier to the world's automakers, Menzerna did not have a consumer product
line. Under license from Menzerna, Classic Motoring Accessories designed
consumer packaging, labels and brought the Menzerna Consumer Line to market in
2003. Over the years, Classic Motoring Accessories has continued to work closely
with Menzerna Germany and Menzerna USA to customize OEM formulas for the
do-it-yourself enthusiast.
OEM polish and compound formulas are
designed for use on the assembly line on fresh paint. Menzerna has
customized many of the formulas in the consumer line to allow the enthusiast to
polish cured paint. Slightly increasing the amount of lubricating oils already
in the formula gives the consumer the extra time needed to polish cured paint
before the polish starts to dry. (OEM formulas are often customized to meet the
needs of a particular automaker's assembly line, paint type and application
demands. While in the same family, the Menzerna polish used at a Mercedes plant
in Germany may be different from the Menzerna polish used at a Mercedes plant in
the US. and neither may be optimal for the consumer working on cured paint
finishes.)
To guarantee the best results, Classic
Motoring Accessories continues to work with Lake Country Mfg. and Menzerna to optimally match
each Menzerna polish and compound with the appropriate CCS Technology Foam Pad.
The pads, procedures and speeds we recommend are the result of hundreds if not
thousands of hours of testing both in the lab and on the assembly line.
