Our enthusiast customers are a constant
source of amazement. Without any formal design or engineering background they
continue to develop innovative products that elegantly solve a variety of
detailing problems. This Carrera Lug Nut Cleaning Brush is a classic
example. The Carrera Lug Nut Brush consists of a solvent-resistant, plastic, "T"
handle that fits over a replaceable foam head. With a simple twist, it cleans
both the recessed lug nut opening and the lug nut itself.
I always wash my car's wheels first to
avoid splattering road grime and brake dust over freshly washed bodywork. My
wheel wash brush cleans the spokes, the center of the wheel and the top of the
lug nut but can not reach into the recessed lug nut opening. The result is a
clean wheel with dirty lug nut openings.
Now, I clean my car's wheels as usual
but before I do a final rinse, I dip the Carrera Lug Nut Brush in my wash water
and give each lug nut a quick twist. A final rinse now leaves the entire wheel,
including the lug nuts clean and sparkling. The first time I used the brush, I
squirted some wheel cleaner in the lug nut opening to help remove some deeply
caked brake dust. On subsequent washings this was not required. Simple wash
water removed all the grime in the openings.

Brush is available by itself with one foam insert (additional foam inserts
are available below) or in a package with five (5) extra foam inserts.
I clean two vehicles weekly. After a
month, I can start to see some fraying on the foam fingers. I'm guessing
that the insert is about half way through it's useful life. Figuring that
the foam should last about two months, the extra five foam inserts in the
package will give you a year's worth of lug nut cleaning. |

My sample brush did not come with any care instructions but
it only makes sense to clean the brush after using it. I swish the brush in
my wash water, remove the foam insert, squeeze out excess water, replace it
on the handle and let it air dry.
The Carrera Lug Nut Brush fits lug nut openings from 1-3/8 inches to 2
inches in diameter and lug nuts from 3/4 inch to 13/16 inches in diameter.
This brush may not work on your RV but so far has performed flawlessly on
every foreign and domestic vehicle I've tried it on.
